Default 5.0 Generation Swap?

Anyone ever heard of a 5.0 swapped into '99 - '04 body? I have an entire fox but the restoration required to fix rust damage to the body/frame is way beyond my capabilities. Trying to figure out if there are any other gens that migh be a close fit? 5.0 HO with T5 World class tranny, 8.8 rear, and it's carbed. Any thoughts?

I read something in the knowledge database that '79 - '04 all have same chassis. Is that right?

Yea. The wiring is the only hard part with 96+. With any 94+ body you have to either get a 94+bell and trans or just the bell and swap your input shaft out for the longer one in the 94+'s. You could just buy another fox.

Yea, there is somebody on the site that's done it I believe, but I may be wrong, but I have seen in several mags where people have put 5.0s in 99+ and terminator engines in 5.0s, so anything is possible. However, keep in mind, the 99+ uses OBDII wiring setup, foxes run OBDI, not sure what type of complications that could cause, but that is one major difference, so I'd make sure a 5.0 ecu will fit a 4.6L ecu harness first of all, last thing you want to do is rewire the whole car.

Yup, rewiring the whole car is the PITA part. But yes with enough time and patience it can be done.
