Default Oil leak?

Ok, I know this isn't about a mustang, but I know (some of) you guys know your stuff. I don't venture into other sections of the forum either.

Any ways, My friend has a 97 dode neon. It goes through about a quart of oil every week or two. If you know what those valve covers look like, it seems like oil gathers around the spark plug boots? Where could that be coming from? It also doesn't help that it burns oil..

There are seals that are under the v/c for the spark plug tubes. They deteriorate and leak into the plug galley. That's why there is oil on the plug wire boots. They are also famous for leaking oil from the head gasket too.

In short, replace the v/c gasket along w/ the spark plug tube seals.

Is there any chance either of those could cause the car to burn oil?

Right, compression test might not be a bad idea. The odo only shows 100k, but the person that drives it has a lead foot. I'm thinking that could be why it now smokes partially.
