Default Problems Shifting

Ok, I have a 95 5.0 5 speed. I have trouble shifting from 1st to 2nd and sometimes 2nd to 3rd when the shes been running for about 20 mins in hot weather. Sometimes she even just stalls out, which I think is fuel pump related but figured I say it anyway. It's just hard as hell to move the shifter in low gears, practically feels like the cables gonna snap. But once I am driving over 25mph she shifts fine.

Note.

I have swapped the tranny fluid less than 6 months and less than 10,000 miles ago. I also had the clutch replaced in January and never had a issue with it.

sounds like your synchronizers are shot. You can have them replaced, the parts are only around $60 but labor is very intensive. It's almost best to just get your whole tranny replaced which is what I recently had to do.

^^^^you mean blocker rings.....the shyncronizer hub is built onto the gear itself and they are not 60 dollars, each gear is 100 dollars, rebuilt many t-5's it never gets any cheaper

I used crappy universal tranny fluid a friend got me from a local oil change shop. Also, I have my clutch really tight, my pedal is very hard to push down. Thought I might add that for relevance.

Is it possible to have a lower quality fluid that will not tolerate higher temps well and affect the shifting ability?

the proper fluid is dextron III/mercon, if you didn't put that in, you need to then.

Well I had a universal mix, which I will swap. Try that before a whole tranny. But thanks for your input.
