Default help - loss of all throttle at anything over idle.

I have a 87 hatch that has been running fine for the last two months. recently, it has started cutting out at anything over 1/16 to 1/8 throttle. it starts fine, and drives fine down the neighborhood streets, but once i have to push the gas to get up to even 40, it starts to cut out bad. it will cut out, i will release the throttle, and once i push the gas again, it does the same thing. it does it so hard it barks the tires. i have checked all of the obvious stuff, i.e. loose electrical, air filter(its not wet, which has happened in my exploder once), fuel filter, and so on. it is a fice speed with decent opwer, but i cant figure it out. any help would be appreciated.

first step would be throttle position sensor. test the voltage from closed throttle up to wide open. should go from 0.5-0.8ish closed to around 4.5 wide open, with a smooth increase as it opens more.

check all ur vaccum tubes and make sure all of them are connected cuz that could cause it or ur firing order could be backwards

- Check fuel pressure.
- Run the DIY KOEO/KOER self tests.
- Check manifold vacuum with gauge engine idling and while accelerating.

we dont really care how things "look" we care more about electrical values found with a DVOM.

got a fuel pressure gauge that you can see while driving?
