Default Vibration Damper

I have an 85 coupe that still has the 7.5 rear in it. I recently did a 5 lug conversion and put 4.10's in it. My question is, that steel vibration damper that hangs from the rear around the pinion area, is that needed? I pulled it off when doing the gear set but should i put it back?

You'll find the integrity of your rear end to be much longer with it on. Vibration does not do anything positive for bearings or clearances. Leave it on.

You'll find a lot of different opinions on this Scott. FWIW, mines still on the car.
