Default driveshaft is too short????

Im doing an aod to t5 swap, I got the tranny in, went to put the shaft in and it's about 2 inches too short. I was told numerous times that i can reuse the auto driveshaft?????

You can. The only difference between them is the auto driveshaft has a weight on the tranny side to absorb some vibration.
