What is typically needed if i want to run about 5-6 pounds of boost in a stock 88 mustang?

imagine it would be the same for most.. but you'd have to get it dyno'd after, so always good to have good plugs and wires, along with injectors and fuel pump. Not sure what they are stock with, but i'd still say more fuel. traction bars/suspension would help if not already installed. you haven't said what you have or anything about the car. so thats a good start.

why would suspension have to do anything with supercharging?

You can run 8-10 PSI on a stock 5.0 block, if the motors healty and the compression is fine.

I use Autolite plugs with 10 LBS of boost,no issues at all....yet...don't want to jinx myself...lol

suspension will help you use the amount of power you will be gaining for forced induction. its nice to have the power, won't do much good if you can keep it on the ground. tires, uca/lca's subframe connectors panhard bars, etc. pick your poison. nice to have alot of power, suspension will let you use it.

the bare minimum is a fmu for 6 lbs... I ran one for about 30 miles and decided to upgrade the fuel system

keep a check on the timing too. If it were me, I would drop it down to 8 initial and see how it does

copper plugs a step or two colder that stock. Gap the plugs from 28 to 30 thousandths with the stock ignition system

It would be a good idea to replace the fuel pump but, you could get away with the stock pump and 6 psi.

Agreed! But I would replace the pump since the stock one only flows at 88lph. The more fuel the better. A 255lph pump should keep your motor properly fueled.

Definitely use a colder plug of one heat range (24). 255lph pump. Upgrade ignition.

you could easily run more than that depending on the setup and the tune. Imo only running 5-6psi of boost isn't even worth the price for the supercharger and supporting mods.
