I am just trying to accomplish 300HP by supercharging. i can see how 5-6psi is not work it, is there other ways i can reach 300Hp?

Not that it's not worth it,you'll get used to it fast and wish you had more.Save up for the 8-10 PSI Vortech kit, it'll come with the T-Rex in line pump, FMU, boost retard box,everything you need to install it.

When I had a turbo'd civic the only things I had to upgrade on the car were the injectors & went with an EMS instead of a FMU (unless you guys are referring to the computer as the FMU & not a FPR or other hack device.) Also picked up a wideband, but you won't need that unless you plan on tuning it yourself.

Crome (the EMS I used) allowed me to change the amount of fuel dumped depending on boost & RPM. Same thing with the ignition. No need for FMUs or things like that. Also had other goodies like a 2 step & ignition retard based on boost levels.

Something that's not being considered is that you guys are saying 6-8lbs is the limit, but what are the HP limits? 6-8lbs on a small blower isn't going to make nearly as much power or move nearly as much air as a larger blower.

6lbs on something like GT17 sized turbo isn't going to make as much power or use as much fuel as 6lbs on a GT35 sized turbo.

I was running 12-14lbs but it was a small turbo so I was only making a little more than 100hp over stock.

When I first put mine on, completely stock, 9psi, intercooled I dyno'd at 303 to the wheels.

FMU is a Fuel Management Unit...I would sell the one that came with my kit for 50 bucks. That is why it is the bare minimum because it is so cheap...you can't make 19lb. injectors deliver enough fuel with any tuning device anyways with 6 psi without leaning the car out. However a fmu will work with 19lb injectors and cost less than going any other route.

Thanks. I'm still new to the mustang world, including tuning.

It cost me about $15 for my chipset & about $120 for my data logger & chip burner when I did my civic.
