Default headlight problem NEED HELP FAST

so i was driving the other night and all of a sudden my lights went out and all my electronics started flipping out going on and off. Its not my battery. And its not a fuse, and it only happens when i turn my headlights on . it doesnt do it when i only have my parking lights on. but as soon as i push it all the way in it starts freaking out. then it just stopped. I have HID idk if that means anything. I did some investigating on the switch on the dash. I replaced this( with one from a junk yard) awhile back because it had melted for some reason. When i pulled it out it i aw that a wire was out of the plug so i put it back and it started freaking out , so i took it back out and it stopped , now this wire seems to go to the top left slot i think its black and orange and is large, i ordered a whole new pigtail from Late model resto hoping this is the problem. but i just want to know what everyone thinks. I cant drive at night which is a real big inconvience.

HID's require a ton of current to make them work. The factory ford wiring harness isn't capable of sustaining this load. You're going to need to create your own wiring harness, and you will need to use a relay to direct the current instead of leaving it up to the switch.

Basically you need to do this, but with the headlight wiring instead of foglight wiring.

This link is purely an example as it won't help you directly, but it shows what needs to be done.
