alternator problems

I just put a 130 AMP alternator on my 91 mustang 5.0 and now the battery light is on I had to splice a wire and I ran it for 5 minutes and didnt have any problem so why is the light on and is it actually working

to see if it's actually working, you'd need to do a load test with a Vat 40 or turn all accessories on and with an ammeter measure amperage output of alt
