Default Aftermarket cam

I am new to the engine rebuild scene and I was wondering if I got an aftermarket cam for my 5.0 would I have to have my block messed with by a machinist or would it go right into the space from the old one

not expensive to do, no, but that's assuming you have the engine out and have means to bring it to them.
if not, add in tow costs, etc..

What kind of build are you planning to do? The stock cam is good for a stock rebuild. Ive read a article where someone made 400hp+ n/a with stock cam. Its good cam all around.
