Question 331 stroker build

I have a 93 stang with heads, cam, intake, full exhaust and a few suspension upgrades. It puts out good power and there is nothing wrong with it but... I want more power and i wanted to get it all motor. I was thinking about building a 331 and wanted to get some tips from those of you who have done such things.

Forged crank, rods, pistons? are they worth it if i don't want to boost or spray?

what all will i need?

what kind should i go with?

what would you go with?

--Keep in mind also that i still want to be able to drive on the street.

Can I just bolt on the stuff when i get it or do i have to take my block out and have it worked on?

Thanks for the help in advance!

What is your h/c/i now?
Yes you need to pull the motor and have machine work done. This isn't a simple "bolt on" situation.

I would go 347. However i wouldnt buy the stroker kit until you get the engine torn down and inspect the cylinders to see if it needs boring. That way if it doesn't, you can order a standard piston and have the cylinders honed just in case you decide to put a forged piston in it later. If you decide to upgrade to a power adder then you can bore it and put a forged piston in. A good hyperiutetic(sp) piston, in my opinion is a very good option in n/a motors as they don't expand as much as forged ones creating less friction therefore freeing up more hp. Just an idea.

331's are for underachievers..lol.....347 is where it's at, no replacement for displacement, and if your concerned with the ole myth of oil burning and the side loading of the piston, go with the 5.315 rod and 331 piston and 3.4 throw on the crank = a 347 with the rod ratio of a 331, for the myth scared folk
