What did you use to do the load test?

it was this
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...andName=Actron

thats mjr for the links would a bad starter relay do this cause i went to check my connections and the one that gose to the starter just fell off

Is your battery a sealed unit or does it have caps to access the cells? You can pass a load test, but still have a dead cell.

its sealed i replaced the starter relay its still donin the samething but i did notice that the cable that goes from the relay to the starter gets relay hot when u try to crank it

mjr46 01-02-2010 09:49 PM

you either have high resistance in the cable or a faulty connection between there and the starter

1988TTOP 01-02-2010 09:59 PM

well my connections look good so the cable?????

mjr46 01-02-2010 10:19 PM

you cannot and I repeat CANNOT assume a connections integrity is good based on looks.............performing a resistance check or voltage drop test across a connection is the only way to verify such, or if such tests are above your ability, replace the cable and cross your fingers, remember it could be an issue in the starter also causeing the excessive current draw , causing wire to heat up.....which is why I always verify through tests:)

well i know it dont matter but the starter is 2 days old im not very good with electrical ****

mjr46 01-02-2010 10:24 PM

replace the cable then and see what happens, but make sure all grounds are in good shape
