Found source of leak, how to fix...
Today I was finally fed up with my wet driver's side carpet so I tore it up and dumped some water on my car to see if I could find the source, and I did. There is a seam underneath the A pillar where the top of the firewall meets some metal that appears to go under the dash. In the pic, the firewall is on the right, and the top of the pic faces the passenger side door, it was taken with the camera pointing up. You can see the seam where they put some sealant on there, it is clearly cracked and down a little further is where the water is actually dripping from, you can see the brown streaks. But, it is so cramped under there and difficult to work. How can I access this seam, to reseal it? Take off my fender, through the wheel well?

My first problem is just getting better access to the seam. I might be able to squirt something on it but I'd like to get better access and seal it up real good so the leak doesn't spring up further down somewhere. There is a large plastic card running along the seam that is blocking my view and access, looks like it's stuck up there pretty good.

It looks like I will have to remove the dash to get a good look at this. I might just do what you said and smear some window sealant on there and pray the water doesn't find another path into my car. I might cut away some of the plastic card as well, it's right in the way.
Can you get that sealant at the hardware store, or walmart?
Got another picture, the red arrow shows where I think the water goes before getting inside the car. Anyway to get under there from outside the car without taking the driver's side fender off?

Well I put some sealer on there yesterday and tested it today, still leaks. I think it may be coming in at the bottom of the windshield somewhere. I'll just have to try to seal it from the inside where I can actually see it coming in.
