Clutch quadrant HELP!!!
hey guys i have a 91 fox body 5.0 with a t5 world class, and a stock clutch/clutch cable. im replacing the quadrant with a 50resto unit, and im stuck trying to get the smaller piece of the OE quadrant off of the farther shaft. i have looked over this site, and i cant find a thread of someone actually doing it, please if anyone has any info or has found such a thread id appreciate it.
i have removed both hairpins, but the part itself is too big to manuever between the shaft it rides on and the frame or whatever the metal part next to it is (i havent removed the carpet but i know that metal part is welded on)
I got it off but i had to take my clutch cable-to-firewall holddown off and pry on the f*cker from the hole. BTW, has any1 here used the 50resto quadrant? it has 3 different settings that you can hook up your cable to and i have it on the middle setting right now and my pedal's got almost 2inches of free play. I dont think that even the farthest setting will help that much, however i do know that people sometimes use spacers on the pawl and quadrant shafts. My question is, will shimming the quadrant make a differance on the free play of my pedal?
