the stock 5.0 block can only handle like 500 hp so you would have to build a sportsman block.

Good place to look for used parts. Careful on their forums though. I have no clue where they get some of that crap.</P>

Ive read up that even after putting every performance part you can on a car, if you take it a dyno shop, a bit $$$$$$, but with theyre tunning and knowledge they can provoly free up some hidden hp, with a fully moded up all motor 5.0, from the spark plugs to the pistons, they can proboly free up about 30-50 extra hidden horse, by just tunning everything they can, I have a friend that has a civic Dx and he plans to mod it up with a b18b1 engine swaped in it, but hes very cheap and will proboly get a f**ked up one, and i tell him dont be cheap , spend an extra 400 for a rebuilt one, anyways, i digress.Iread updyno shops can increase the hp of a bone stock car by 13 horses by doing their magic on ignition , fuel , or what ever they do

you can go without forced induction or squeeze in excess of 450 horses. you would need a sportsman block, (like posted earlier) and about $10,000.... like it was said, the stock block can go up to 500 horses, but i wouldn't take the chance......since the stock 302 platform wasn't a 4-bolt main, you would want to consider a crankshaft girdle (if you stay with the stock block). You could run 500 horses on the street, and still run on pump gas.You would definitely have one beast of a car, but if i were wanting more for less, i'd do a power adder. I can understand wanting to stay all motor, cause 500 horses N/A is really bas @$$. Good luck.....sounds like it'll be fun!

I think DSS Racing uses the stock short block for there short/long blocks that they claim can handle 650 horsepower is this true ? This is for the super pro bullet 306/308 short block $2999.95 Says the 5.0 roller cam block has been thernmal cleaned, stressed relieved, magna fluxed, threads chased, mains checked and corrected. oil galleys tapped for thread in plugs and the decks are CBN squared and equalized. The block is then precision bored .004" smaller than final bore size, toqrue plate honed in our sunnen CV616 to proper size and RMS finish. The block is O-ringed, deepseat freezplugs and federal mogul seamless cam bearings are installed.
