Default Installing a AOD tranny in 83 5.0/ safety switch by pass

I had a 3 speed auto in and am replacing with a 4 AOD tranny. Problem is I can't find where transmission neutral safety switch hooks too. Looked in wiring harness and can't find any where to connect . Any options/ideas.

Thanks

Well obviously the connectors between the c4/c5 and the AOD are different so it isn't just a plug it in and go.

Its not a simple matter of plugging in anywhere. Question was, how did I do it ?

Thanks

Default Yes sir

There is. I have to tell you this, I'm in a wheelchair and the car is my sons. I am working on it with using pics he takes and he describes to me. Can get frustrating...lol The story on stang is, guy changed from fuel injection to carb, took out tranny that was in it, I assume an overdrive, and put in a 67 3 speed. Dang thing leaked a day after he got it, took it out, replaced seals, installed back in, leaked 2 days later. I said lets put a AOD in figuring no problems. Well the harness has black tape all over it, so did he remove that plug for donor car, I don't know ? Sorry for the big back ground story just frustrated..

Thank you...

the harness that comes to a dead end under the car is the harness that should plug into the aod that carries the back up light signal as well as the neutral safety switch. does the aod you have, have a harness you can plug into? if not i believe you can just jump the neutral switch by splicing a couple wires on the car's side of the harness but dont hold me to it.

Default Yes

It does have a wire harness coming out of it. I will have him look a little harder under car. Now we pulled the pan off and there was a plastic round plug with a rubber o ring in pan.

thanks
