From what I understand the xe276 will work, at least with the 1.6 rockers. The Trick Flow stage 1 will work. Trick flow told me that it would work with 1.6 and 1.7 rockers. The xe270 will work and the 270 Magnum from Comp will work. XE270 seems to be pretty popular cam. Part number for that one is 35-351-8. And of course- the Ford E, F, and B will work. Also Steeda #18 and #19.

oh for christ sake... stop with the bull****, put the 276 in there, check PTV with a 1.7 rocker, and if it fits.. run it.

if it doesnt clear, send it back.... end of story

Adder- you need to chill dude! What part of this don't you get? Nobody wants to buy a cam, spend a weekend tearing a motor down to shortblock, put a cam in, bolt heads back up, just to discover that there may be an issue? Why not talk to some guys who know for SURE what will work and what won't? And before you go on a rant bout always checking PTV clearance on any motor, let's face it- you buy the right cam and put it in motor with facory heads, pistons, etc you wont have to second guess. You start milling heads, milling block, bigger valves, then I get how things will change. By the way, I spoke to a sales rep at Summit and asked about potentially sending a cam back, and he told me no- not after it has been installed. So, can one be sent back? This guy says no!

..... don't take the following as a negative comment, it is not. You have just described the exact way to half-*** any type of work on an engine. BTW.... if you have factory heads with factory pistons, etc...... you already have the correct cam...... the factory cam. You not only have to check for PtV, you also need to degree the cam. And no.... that is not second guessing the quality of the cam, that is making SURE it is installed correctly and set for the tolerances built into the cam, the crankshaft, the timing kit, the heads. Can they be that bad?....... yup, 6° either way based on experience.

Let me guess..... pushrods length don't have to be checked and neither should lifters preload. So..... a "install, torque it down and forget it" is the only correct way to do things?...... I think you are the one that needs to face the reality of what are the required procedures to do, so an an engine works for SURE.
