no it's much better and it doesnt really shake in neutral at all anymore, also the engine used to shake a little and now it sits still while idling. what should i check now? i feel like im closer, is there something that could be wrong with the actual shifter?

is it still only a RPM based issue? does it do it while driving?

certain RPM's
certain speeds
accelerating
decelerating....

answers like these, help us determine WHERE the problem is

Sorry, it does it while driving, once the RPMs get over 3500. It will also shake if I accidentally let the clutch out to fast without giving it enough gas. It shakes side to side and it does it slowly if I lug the engine and it goes at much faster rate when I'm in the higher rpms. The speed doesn't really matter it'll do it at 70 in 5th but also does it at 10 in 1st. Could u joints do this?

yes, but if it ONLY happens at certain RPM's, then its something BEFORE the transmission, or internal to the transmission

My probably is like your's but my shifter will shake at 3000rpm-5000 and then it'll stop shaking but if I let the engine slow the car down, once it gets below 5000, the shifter will start shaking very violently.

Figured it's something with the suspension. Still on the original suspension. lol Guess it's time for some overdue upgrades.

after looking at it more closely, with the boot that goes around the shifter off, it does it all the time. when in neutral it still does it just very slightly, when in gear (any gear) it does it too and becomes more frequent as the speed and rpms increase. it is ALWAYS moving side to side. im stumped.
