Default HOW MUCH TIMING ON A 100 SHOT

I just bought the car and I have no idea if the timing is even correct now, so I am interested to hear what you guys think as far as timing on a 100 shot ..

wet or dry kit? stock or aftermarket ignition? how big is the fuel pump? what size injectors?

with a 155 lph pump, MSD 6-AL and a dry kit shooting in front of the mass air meter, I was running 10 deg. timing on a 100 shot...only burnt two plugs in a season.

my zex kit recommends 2 degrees back from the base of 10 for a 100 shot.mine said nozzle between maf and tb.just google brand and instructions and it will pop up. but from what i researched 75-100 is a very safe shot and if you gap plugs properly and run 93 octane you should be good with base timing.i still have snow here but my timing gun and spark plug socket are in the back of the car and going with me on my first few runs!!

Different engines respond to nitrous differently. Be sure to either read your plugs or us a A/F guage to make sure you don't run lean.

I understand from the factory the EFI 5l come 30* total timing .. is this correct? .. Y car has a Comp Cam 274HR, X303 Alum heads, etc.. So my question is ... From what timing should I start backing the timing down for the nitrous?

if your using 91+ octane and have your stock copper plugs gapped about .042" and it's not hotter than about 75* - 80* you can get away with 12-14* initial timing

when it's cool out, i squirt 80 with 89 octane and 12*

as it warms up i usually knock out timing b4 adding octane

best way is power time it..... start low and work your way up til MPH tails off, keep everything else the same... note temp and air condition

you'll know real soon what you can and can't do just from adjusting it a few times

mph will slow down b4 you hurt anything, and read your plugs
