rr's install, please help!!!

Default rr's install, please help!!!

so i have gt40s, and i new set of rr's, when i tried to install them i notice that the pedestal was very loose at 0 lash, do i need to shim or get shorter pushrods? i think the rods i have now are stock length. also what is the torque specs for rr's?

are they cobra heads? if it is the stock RR's are Crane Cams 1.7's. 20Ft Lbs of torque on the stockers. make sure your valve is completely closed before you set the lash. was your motor a flat tapper or roller motor stock? if you are switching from flap tappet to roller you will need different pushrods.

also unless you replaced the lifters, when you set the preload they will compress quiet a bit but will return to their normal state after a little while

no i dont think they are cobra, just plain gt40's, and with some new rr's, test fitting was on the #1 cylinder at tdc, the pedestal under the rocker is loose, moves up and down about .05-.07 of an inch at 0 lash....

sounds like you're going to need to shim them!
