Default Idle/computer functionality

I hey guys,I am a newby on the block.I am doing some new mods to my 89 5.0 and need some info.To start with I have a stock 72 k motor with aod trans.Going to install 96 explorer intake and gt40 heads, stall conv and trying to decide on a cam.I wanted to use a comp xe270hr and springs as the comp tech advised but I am being told the 89 computer will not control this cam.Could also be a valve clearance problem.Another race mechanic told me a f303 cam was a better chioce for functionality scince I am not going to race the car I just want a nice Idle sounding cam.The machine shop has already done the head work,so they are milled for the springs already. If I use the f303 will the springs be ok or do I stay with the xe270? HELP!

get the XE270. whoever told you that the computer cant control it, is retarded...

many members here and on other forums have used that cam, and had great results with it

you shouldnt even have the stock "headers" on a stock engine..

and WE cannot tell you if that lift will clear in YOUR motor... YOU have to get out there and actually check the PTV yourself

Why is the sound of the engine at idle more important to a lot of people than the performance? Just go unplug a plug wire.

Chech ptv clearance or wish you had. Trash stock headers.
