Default 347 Stroker ?'s

I was wondering what degree I should set my timing at on my engine? I set my timing at 14 and it sounded awesome, but then it wouldn't crank. I also need to know what I should set the fuel pressure at.

Here are the specs on the engine:

Summit block with a 347 stroker kit
Hawks racing Nodular crankshaft
Hawks racing forged I-beam rods
Keith Black .030 forged flattop pistons w/valve reliefs
Trick flow twisted wedge heads 2.02/1.60 61cc chamber, 170 intake runner, 66 exhaust runners.(Ported & polished)
Trick flow hydraulic roller camshaft 221IN/225EX 0.499/0.510 lift.
Compcam Noisy geardrive
Trick flow full 1.6 roller rockers.
Trick flow upper and lower intake.(Ported & polished)
MAC longtube headers
FoMoCo 24lb injectors
BBK 70mm TB
Granitelli 75mm MAF cal.24#'s and CAI
BBK CAI
BBK 70mm EGR spacer
C-4 trans w/ 10inch Stall.
FoMoCo 4.10 gears
MSD Pro-Billet Ready-To-Run EFI Distributor
Taylor 10.4 blue wire set
Summit high output coil
255lph fuel pump
BBK fuel press reg.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I had it at 14 degrees, but when I tried to crank it up later it just started acting like it was out of time. you know "whoop whoop whoop".

did you reset the idle, clean the maf and iac. check the tps voltage. reset the computer. Also did you pull out the spout connector when you reset the timing

The MAF, TB, TPS and IAC are all brand new.

I did pull out the little connector while setting the timing. I then reinstalled it after I set it. I'm not sure what I have the timing at right now. I just turned it back enough to make it crank.

I also have the idle set at 900RPM right now. I was told to do that so the engine would create enough vaccum at idle for the brakes.

that's a small cam for that combo..and at even 800 rpm you will have plenty of vacuum as the cam is on a wide C/L 112 I believe..I think what is happening is your starter is getting heat soaked....so a hi torque starter is needed or a heat sheld on the starter

Thanks vfast. It's funny you say that about the starter. Last night I was working on my Stang and my starter went out. Oh well, just one more thing to add to the growing list of parts for my car.

I second the option of a hi-toque starter. The higher compression from the 302 to 347 probably is killing the stock starter.
