why cant my car start??
okay i have a 1989 mustang 5.0, i have been having problems with getting it started lately so i bought a new alternator a new starter solenoid a new starter and a new battery. i was pretty sure i had a short so i took off the dash and the previous owner had a switch panel set up so i took that off and spliced it to my key. i thought my starter solenoid was the problem because its an external. so i sanded down the quarter to bare metal that didnt really help. i have rewired the entire car and all i get are clicks coming from the solenoid and sometimes it will start when i take a wrench to it and connect it to the ignition and the battery cable but not all the time and sometimes it will start with just turning the key but not every time. i have no idea what the problem is and i dont really wanna take it to a professional i like to do things like that myself but im getting ready to call one. i took everything in and got it tested and everything was wright checked all of the wires and they were all right can some one please help me!

Check all your grounding straps (including chassis & engine straps) and your battery cables... poor grounding could cause insufficient amperage to the starter to turn the engine over.
Doesn't cost anything to check them and they're important anyway...
