Rear Brakes/parking brake/5 lug question
Hey,
i'm in the midst of doing a 5 lug conversion/brake upgrade on my fox. I have axles, spindles, hubs, etc... and 13" 4 piston brembos for the front. Now i was planning on getting the cobra brakes for the rear ( http://www.americanmuscle.com/cobra-...ers-black.html ) but i was concerned about having a functioning e-brake. What do most guys do for an e-brake when they swap out the drums? Thanks!!

Those are the calipers I'm using and my E-brake works flawlessly.
You have to a few mods to the parking brake handle, and get three new parking brake cable lines.
The spring in the parking brake(large spiral) needs to be disabled by having the spring tab cut off. You can leave the disable spring there... or do like I did and remove it entierly. You need to weld the ratcheting mechanism together so the handle turns into a solid unit.
The new, small parking brake cable that connects to the handle will have a threaded rod on it. You must drill out the hole on the equalizer so it will accept this large rod. The new parking brake cables run the exact same route as the old cables. I reversed the orientation of the stock cable brackets(in front of rear wheels) so it pulls them closer toward the middle of the car, my tires are pretty wide and would have rubbed otherwise.
Then it's just a clip that holds the cable to the caliper.

You can see the weld on the ratchet teeth...

Here's the cable and clip, this is how it should be done.
