eec-4 scan question
Hi there,
I have the Mass Flo FI system on a Rousch motor.
This is based on the 93 5.0l mustang computer etc. Hence why I am posting the quesiton here.
I need to get a scan tool to read codes and trouble shoot an issue.
Does any one have a recommendation for an easy to use tool?
Also can you please point me to a source of the codes/meanings?
Thanks!
Jeff

Autozone sells a scanner for $40 that is capable of reading the codes, but a test light and a paper clip can do the same thing, if you know how to count.
You can post any codes here and I'll be glad to give you an explanation of what they are and how to troubleshoot them.

Hi,
Since writing this I found my MAF was shot. Installed new today. Took the car for a ride...ran great. And then died...no sputter just died.
Found the coil wire had an arc so we replaced. Car started.
The codes in the computer are 22 - MAP/BP out of self test range and 12 - cannot control rpm during self test high rpm range.
What does this mean relative to my car cutting out?
THANKS!!

1. Make sure you don't have a vacuum hose connected to the BP/MAP sensor. If not....
2. Check the procedure to check the BP/MAP circuit and sensor. After you solve code 22.....
3. Perform a Base Idle Reset Procedure and retest via a KOEO and KOER self tests.
