1990 lx vert

i have a drivers door klunk over bumps and stuff. the door closes flush but seems to bang around over rough roads. i don't think it is the hinges, is there a way to tighten the locking mech. ????

is the striker wore out??? thats what it sounds like. also the bushings in the front of the door wear out too, but normally dont make noise when they do. i would look at the striker.

Also sometimes the spring falls off the back of the window regulator and bounces around the door.

Check a few things....

Door higes: Open the door partially and lift up. If there is movement then your hinges are bad.

Next...look at your stiker. The grey thing on the other end of the door attached to the car. This should not have grooves in it from wear. If so replace.

Next you can tighten the door by adjusting the mechanism in the door and on the body but if you do this then there is a possibility that it won't sit flush.

Also mustang8719 could be right too. That is if it rattles internally.

And if all those are fine....welcome to the world of a convertible. It WILL rattle EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!
