Car running funny
#11
there is no exact timeline to plugging a cat. Either remove your O2 sensors or loosen the mid pipe at the header flange and then take the car for a ride. see if it "magically" has more power. That will let you know that your cats are wasted.

Alright, I just didnt know if it was a long process or if they plug quick when runnin rich. thanx tho. I'll just get em removed when I get the money. Right now my car is a money pit lol

Buy an offroad mid pipe off summit. Don't pay some jackass to hack up your stock pipe. Get under there and get some grease under them nails....

I'm without a job right now so money is tight. And it seems like all the possible thing to go wrong, well, is going wrong lol. So I look for cheaper alternatives. And cat removal by cuttin them out end replacing with pipe is cheaper, but yea it looks ugly. Once I get a job, I do plan on making it right with an o/r pipe.
So I found my overheating issue. Both motormounts are broken, which causes the fan to rub the fan shroud pretty bad. So now I'm goin to run solid motor mounts and get a fan at a U-Pull yard.

fixed the motor mounts today. Went with solids (Meant for convertable) and they feel great while driving. Also put on another clutch fan, and fixed the overheating issue, as hoped. It runs a little warmer than it used to, but the same when compared to other 5.0's. The fan is also noticeably louder. But i'm not going to complain. Oh yea, also put on a motocraft filter (the one and only good brand for these cars lol) and oil pressure issue is resolved.
