Default 89' Mustang GT Problem

Hey guys, I'm new to posting but I've been reading alot of ur post, very helpful in my deciding what I want to do with my car. But down to buisness, heres whats on my car U/D pulleys,65mmTB,Flowmaster Force2's, basically stock. I plan on doing much more once I fully decide on an engine combo. Anyways I put my TB on yesterday and now its got good power through first but when it hits second it drops down to about 1000 RPM and its got no ***** at all. I've got no clue what it could be. Did I do something wrong? Thanks for any help you guys can give me. Oh yea its and Auto.

did you hook up the tv cable on the throttle body? its next to the throttle cable, i dont know if that would make it run bad or not, so you could check, is your tps set right? check thoes two ang go from their.

Sounds to me like you need some gears to keep the rpm up in the power range

the TPS wont change the performance enough to notice, mainly idle. you can set it to the lowest level and at wot it will still feel the same, but it will cause an erratic idle, lean off idle, and surging.

i still dont understand the problem??? i think you just thought the TB change would give you some more umph, and it didnt, its merely a supporting mod in a way, essentially the stock induction system will work well until you change the H/C/I, and wont give you much performance by themselves. if it really is a very noticeable differance from before and after the TB swap then something is wrong. and to set the TPS you gotta have a digital voltmeter, after you set that you set the idle, recheck the TPS voltage, reset the idle, until both are right.
