Rusty floorboards in my 89 vert
Hey guys. im usually just a reader. never posted before.. so work with me here.. lol i have an 89 5.0 convertible that i got for almost nothing. replaced the top. now im working on repairing all the damage neglect has caused. i have the interior out now. the floorboards need sum repair. i plan on just piecing it in instead of getting new floorpans.
i also plan on installing subframe connectors. either MM full length or sum hommemade 1s. not sure yet. but fully welded of course. if i make my own id want to use 2x4 tubing i think. the stronger the better right?..
my question now is.. underneath the car. it has added bracing that goes from the torque boxes out to the factory jacking rail. (the rail that runs along the side of the car). is this only on verts?..
theyre riveted in. what do i do with them? i need to remove them to do repairs.. do i replace them when im done? weld them in?
ill get sum pictures today if it will help

ok. so i took off those supparts so i can access the floorboards from underneath. 1 at each corner.. just stamped steel. should probly stiffen them up id say..
anybody have any input on subframe connectors? homemade or MM?
fitted to the bottom of the floorboards or cut the floorboards and have the connectors protrude up a lil bit in the back floorboards?..
