Default fuse help!

Yesterday when I got into my car I looked on the floor mat and this fuse was sitting on the ground. I tried to put it back in place... but I have no idea where it goes. It's a small brass looking fuse, but it's a little bigger than the regular fuses and doesn't look like a regular fuse. I'll try and get a picture of it if no one knows what I'm talking about. But to the point, where does this go and what does it do? I tried to turn on the heater and A/C but no air came out. I think it has something to do with that. thanks for any feedback.

Does it have a metal casing?

If so it is a circuit braker and it should go on the top of the fuse box.

Yes a picture will help more.
