Default Motor Tick

For a 1994 Mustang GT 5.0 H/O
Hey guys, for the last month and a half or so, I've been getting an increasingly louder tick from the driver side of my motor. It ticks as long as the car is running, doesn't go away or calm down for however long i run the motor. I'm not sure whether its a rocker arm or a lifter.
In case this helps, i've had issues with vibration dampers. I've had one clean cut off of the seal when hitting a gap in a low railroad track, the one that replaced it was a low-end product and went "slightly bad" a few months ago- according to the mechanic who just changed the seals for my oil pan (cracked due to the original damper breakage). and the NEWEST vibration damper makes a strange whirring noise at anytime that the motor is running.

Any help, ideas, and suggestions are greatly appreciated. thanks

have you taken the valve cover off and checked to see if your hypothesis is correct? sounds like an exhaust leak to me.

Vibration dampner making noise? Seems it may be having clearance issue and making whinning sound. Check for timing pointer touching. Tick, exhaust leaks make a tick. Prevention for engine tick.. Buy extra large Adams Tick Collar. Guarenteed for three months. Bubba

I was thinking it was a lifter you are hearing because of an exhaust leak.

check that the header bolts are all tight and also the bolts at the collector are tight. These have a tendancy to loosen up.
