This has been going on for a while now but it's just becoming annoying. After I installed my shift kit, it takes a while for it to get out of first gear. There is nothing wrong with my shift kit and I did everything right but it seems like the transmission has to warm up or something before it shifts out of first. I can get it to shift if I bring it up to 4,000 rmps and let off the thottle or if I just drive it for a while. I've read about the TV cable coming out of adjustment and it's quite a popular thing with the AOD's, has anyone else had this problem? Maybe the tranny fluid level isn't correct?

I had this same problem with my AOD after I installed a shift kit. I dont know what caused it, but it only happens when its cold. But this is just another reason i converting to a 5speed.

clean your governor, it is what allows a tranny to shift when it does by building up pressure

Is that inside my transmission? I sounds like what mikey is talking about, it seems like it has to warm up and it actually shifts just fine if the car sits outside and warms up before I drive it.
