Default Sweating the small stuff

Well, with the car running, I'm loving it to bits. Will love it even more when I'm able to find the time and money to get the Maximum Motorsports coilovers and a watts link.

Anyways, there's a few things that have been bugging me about the car.

1st: Whenever I put the car into fifth, it just convulses badly. I can't even flipping accelerate in this gear because it just vibrates too damn bad. Doesn't do it in any other gear, just fifth. Is this normal? I can accelerate in 5th without vibrating but not til it's about 1900rpms or more.

2nd: The car has a very slight miss when cruising in any gear at any rpm. It's more noticeable at low rpms though. What could this be? I have timing set at 14degrees, new wires, new plugs, and the distributor is only 1 and a half years old. What could be going on there? It's just a slight miss that is only there during cruising. Not there at all at idle nor when WOT.

3rd: Today I noticed my oil pressure wasn't at it's normal 25-30psi at idle. It was around 15-20. I panicked but the car seemed fine. Is this normal for it to be this low at warm idle? Am I going to be looking at a new oil pump or block soon? Oil used is 10w-30 RP.

Thanks in advance you guys!

did you clean the injectors, if the car sat for any period of time with fuel in it then the injectors stood a good chance to gum up.

Hm. Should I just run some good fuel injector cleaner through it or take the injectors off and clean them by hand?

Seafoamed the car. No more misfiring while cruising but the fifth gear problem still persists.

glad to hear seafoam fixed a lot of your problems. In terms of your fifth gear problem... read here:

I can understand having no power in fifth but vibrating the hell outta the car is a bit much.

Done. Took it to stock timing also. Same thing but it seems the range has dropped to 1100-1500rpms where it shakes like mad.

I was going more for the miss than the shakes.
