i recently bought a 92 LX. it has BBK headers, and Borla cat-back system, those are the only major mods. All 4 cylinders on the passenger side run cool, you can pretty much touch the headers after running it. I tried new spark plugs, a new oxygen sensor for the passenger side, and fuel injector cleaner, which none helped it run better. when in gear it pops through the intake during acceleration. I finally brought it to a mechanic for diagnosis and this is his report.

timing is jumping around a lot, but adjusting the timing does not change condiditon. tested injector pulse and cylinder balance with injectors and spark plugs. Emissions reading are off the scale terribly. Engine vaccum is low at 17 inches. Compression test read low at 80 pounds all around and first pump hardly moves. No reasonable explanation why right side cylinders run worse, but plugs were very black on that side.

Our compression test read 150 so I dont know who is right.

If anyone has any idea what the problem might be, PLEASE give me some advice. I would like to get it fixed before winter so I can get it covered.

both banks have the same compression, if not you got a blown head gasket, check the compression again.

compression is 150 all around, the mechanics test was innacurate, my dad did a test and got 150 all around
