Well Im sure this question has been asked over and over, but I tried to look through the forums for my answer, but had no luck. My question is and about intake choices. I was wanting to get the Cobra intake for my new engine, but I have read that its only capable of up 350hp without being ported. I was wanting to get around 400hp, but Im also not really wanting to go spend $600 on an intake. And yes I have heard about the gt40 intake off of an explorer but all of the flow charts that I have looked at online show that the Cobra intake out-does it. Any input would be appreciated.

 

its capable of more power theres a turbo 93 cobra out here makin 570 horse while using the cobra intake

 

Yeah with FI im sure it could put out plenty more power than 350hp, but for now im just going NA

 

if you want to play you got to pay.

HA GT40E intake is the same lower as the cobra and GT40. its the upper that makes the difference can a ported GT40E can flow very well. same with a Cobra upper they need to be ported if you dont wish to port then spend the big wami's

 

almost any aftermarket manifold is capable of making over 350hp. and the gt40 and cobra are so close to the same the cobra is a better choice b/cause its much cheaper, unless you get one from an explorer.
