Default Alternator.?

Well, my stang has been pretty reliable for the past 4yrs, but had to trip out on me today. When i was out drive in it i did 1st n 2nd gear pull and when i let off i noticed my amps red light turned on and my amps gauge was going up n down.., o and the rpm's gauge was stuck at 2k.. pulled over disconnected entire stereo system and turned back on fine but the amps red light turned on and the amps gauge was hitting the low red lines., made it home and just for Sh*%# i i turned on all lights blinkers heater and it got so low on amps then died..? What gives, you guys think its the alternator? never had one go out like that before..., and sorry for the long story here..

Check your bettery, could just be a junk battery not taking a charge. If your battery is fine then fire the car up and put a volt meter on the battery, should stay consistent while running,if the volts are dieng off then you have found your problem.

simple check for next time : just run a multimeter (voltmeter) on the battery with the car running. usually with most things off and at idle it'll read 14.5 volts if it's charging. obviously anything close to 12.6 volts means it's not charging at all! glad you fixed it
