Help from someone with knowledge of turbos
Hello, first off this isn't my car. Im asking this question for a friend. He has late 80's model mustang 5.0 LX.. he has motor work done to the car to raise compression and give him more power all motor.. Now a couple years after doing that he decides he wants a turbo. He already has the turbo kit in his possesion now. Will it be safe to run turbo on a 5.0 engine thats built with higher compression? I was thinking no, or maybe he could use the turbo but not use as much boost. Any advice is appreciated. If u think it's safe what boost level should he run on a car with higher compression?

what heads? and are you sure it is 10 to 1. I would also be talking to a cam grinder about a cam for the engine telling them what he has they could help him bleed off a bit of cly. pressure. I like Cam Motion they rock on turbo cars. He is really gone to need a tune so that will take most of the mystery out of it. with compression that high it will spool the turbo pretty good also. and the drivability off boost will be good. I dont think I would be looking to go much over 10 psi. on street gas and then that I think would be getting out there. Now if he was using meth. and the intercooler both that would help a lot also. why dont he look into ways to get compression down. Like opening the combustion chambers up a bit, move up to a thicker head gasket. You can give up some of the quench on a turbo engine due to the air moving so fast from being pressurized offering a better burn as I have been told by my machinist.

water/meth injection will almost be a requirement at that cr, not even for power just to control detonation, I hope he used high quality piston/rods and maybe even a crank depending on how far he takes it. A high quality tune/tuner will be without a doubt the most important thing.
