Default Car back together wont stay running when i plug in vacum line

So I got my car back together started it and had a whistle so looked under the intake and noticed I forgot to hook the vacuo line down there back up. Hooked up the vacum line and now the car wont idle for nothing and just dies. Is this just a timing problem? I dropped the dizzy in but haven't set the timing yet. The thing that is throwing me is if I take the hose back off the car runs just fine. Please any thoughts!

make sure you dont have your EGR hooked directly to a vac source

Ok checked for anymore vac leaks made sure the vac to the egr was unplugged started it had to hold throttle for a couple min before it would idle itself. Set the timing to about 14* turned the car off to tighten the dizzy and when I started it back up same thing. Wont idle by itself for nothing.

are you removing the SPOUT before you adjust the timing ? and are the wires clear so your not picking up other cylinders ?

Ya I turned the timing up another * or 2 and then decided to unhook the battery and let the computer reset. After about an hour I started it and its running just fine now. Is this a fluke?
