Default think its fixed

leak was from timing chain cover replaced all gaskets timing chain cover, thermostat and both water pump gaskets. ran it and no overflowing

it is very possible that this was your problem.

Why? you might ask... Your cooling system was able to bleed off pressure to fill the overflow bottle, but it would continue to bleed off pressure, at a lower rate, through the leak at your water pump. Once the pressure dropped inside the cooling system, there was no way for the coolant in the overflow to be drawn back into the system.

hence, your always full overflow, and empty cooling system.
