fuel tank

ok so i have an 89 mustang lx 5.0 and was wanting to know if i could put and 86 fuel tank in it becuase i am goin to be putting a carbed motor in it here soon any input would help thanks

86 wasnt carbed...

You can however put in a 83-85. HOWEVER the sending units are different. If you don't swap the sending unit then your gas gauge will not read correctly.
