Default Paint

What is the average cost for a good paint job on a 1989 Mustang GT convertible. It is two tone gray. I figured about $2000 at a good paint shop?

1000 bucks will get you a great paint job at maaco, 2000 bucks at a good paint job would probably get you show quality

Damn thats not bad. Did they spray teh whole car inside and out? and did they pull out the seats and carpet for you? or did you drop it off bare ***? I need a new floor pan too. Passenger side. Where can I get a new floor pan? I seen them somewhere but that was yrs ago.

He didnt spray the whole car. Engine was still in car, but he took the doors off and everything else and sprayed, i just went with a base clear paint job, nothing to fancy, and yeah he took the seat and carpet and all that out. I bought my floor pan from 50resto.com for like $115 + shipping

In the first 6 months of this year, I've directed a bit more than $3.5 million on 800 exotic, high end luxo, muscle cars and classic restorations/repairs for my company, and negotiated savings of about $640,000. My customer satisfaction rating is about 94% excellent, 3% happy, 2% didn't care, and 1% were some degree of pissed. That tells me that there is no guarantee you just can't please everyone, no matter how hard you try. You can, however, definitely minimize your risk, and either save a few bucks for gas, or plow labor savings back into better quality raw materials (in this case paint and additives and block sanding time.)
I'm in the process of writing a magazine article about negotiating restoration contracts, and I'll be happy to send you a copy of the working draft - it's nearly complete, just in need of the final editing. Might save you a few bucks. Send me your email address to ifixmgs@***.net
