Dead Spot

Hey guys i have a question for those of you with carbed 302s. I believe my carb has a dead spot because whenever i shift into 2nd gear and give it alot of gas it will hesitate for quite a bit before the car goes. Im just wondering if any of you guys with carbs have ever had a problem like this, and if so what did u do to fix it.
