Default 93 gt with some fuel or ignition issue

I have a 93 gt with a serious problem. it has a 306 with svo heads, f cam, 24 lb injectors, cobra intake, a3m computer and a sct chip. the problem is very inconsitent but constant. first it will not idle and is dumping fuel. if u go wot it chokes and wont increase rpm. if u slowly increase throttle pressure, it will build rpm but still misses and dumps fuel. another problem i have is intermittely will just lose spark and die. i have started it, held it to 4000 for 15 sec and with a spark tester u watch it just cut off and die. another thing i noticed is if u pull the spout connector out it will kind of idle and raise rpm fairly normal but still dumps fuel. now i just recently changed the motor and painted the bay, but before i did this, my engine ran ok (beside the baring problem). i have ran a ground from block to the frame, pulled all the harness grounds of and cleaned the paint off, put a new tps, new iacv, new distributor, new fuel pressue regulator, new spark plugs and i have tried changing the comp. any help will be greatly appreciated. really starting to go out of my mind. thanks

My expertise is in OBD2 stuff.

But from what I know of these older stangs, IMO I'd check the temp sensor (for computer) & MAF sensor.

when you say you pulled the harness grounds off, i assume you mean you cleaned them and reconnected them, right? it is important to provide a good ground for the computer. i'm also assuming you changed the TFI module with the distributor... if you didn't, you should. if you're dumping fuel you're definitely dealing with an intermittent spark condition.

pulling the spout connector removes the computer from the ignition circuit and allows the TFI module to send a fixed spark triggering signal to the coil at each triggering event on the distributor. if this is improving things, you might be dealing with a poor ignition triggering signal to the computer, though i doubt this if you've replace the distributor and TFI modules, and are using the stock harness.

have you checked the coil?
