Default cam performance question

Ok I have a couple of questions, I was told by the previous owner that my car has a cam which is pretty obvious because it lopes pretty hard he wasnt sure what kind it was possibly the e303. Is there any way to actually find out what kind of cam I have?

second question, it doesnt really seem like the cam is doing anything, I know it wont do much without heads or intake, I just oredered a trick flow street heat today, but it just seems like the car is really slow up top for having a cam. The timing is only set at 10 degrees so I was thinking about changing that to 14 to see if that does anything.

I just would like to know what kind of cam I have and if it is e303 should I change it? I am probably going to get trick flow heads as well, so should I be looking into trick flow cams?

Lastly considering the cam is e303 what kind of 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile numbers should I be seeing with my setup (ballpark figure)

bbk shorty headers, bbk h-pipe with cats, flowmaster cat-back, bbk cai, trick flow street heat, 4.10's, pro 5.0 shifter, centerforce clutch, pulleys, subframes, nitto DR's

I previously ran a best of 9.6 in the 1/8 WITHOUT the DR's and the trick flow street heat
It was about 90 degrees out and I couldnt get better than a 2.3 60' on the stocker tires
Please take then into account when estimating times, also I had the cam timing at 10 degrees I am going to be running at 14 degrees now, thanks

I think I can help with part of your situation.
Get a mechanic (or an some one) to set up a dial indicator on the valve thats #1 intake and measure how much it moves. Measure on the valve only. That will give you the lift and then you can look it up in the books or on-line and see what cam you may have.
Duration can also be measured with the engine in the car using a degree wheel and ithe indicator. Here you'll measure from where you first see valve movement on lift. This will take some time so have some patience and you'll get it.
BTW, don't you love it when folks sell a car with a 'cam' in it but lose the card.........

wow thanks i'll have to check that out, lol yeah the guy I bought the car from is actually a mechanic he's my girlfriends cousin and he got the car a few months before me from the guy that did all the work so there wasn't much information given about the mods except for the obvious stuff. Actually kinda fun to find out you have new **** lol, like the other day when I was installing my clutch cable I saw I had subframes.

this is off topic but I had to ask, why did you sell a bad *** LS1 99 camaro, and get a convertible fox body? I mean I love mustangs and all, but LS1s have a lot of mods just like the 5.0, and that's a much nicer car lol.
