Default Alternator help

I got a newer alternator for my 88 mustang gt from a used auto parts shop and it has a different cable plug in than the one already in my car is there any way to change the plugs to fit the new alternator?

I'm not sure but I took the alternator in my car to about every autoshop including ford and they all said that it looks like it was rigged so I'm gonna have to upgrade the plug so it can fit my new alternator
