1990 Mustang LX (5-Speed)

Went to go start the car the other, clutched in like usual, and when I turned the key, instead of getting that resistance where it'd start up, the key simply kept turning forward, and nothing happened. The battery goes on, and doesn't go off even when I take the key out. I ordered a new ignition lock cylinder thinking that was the problem, and I replaced it, but the problem is still happening. I have no idea what the problem could be.

Sounds like the ignition switch. under the dash on the column.. That would explain not getting that bit of resistance your talking about.

 

Definitely sounds like the ignition switch...I just recently replaced mine. Had a similar problem. Easy fix!
