The doors on my 88 GT had been leaking so I replaced the weatherstripping and hinge pins. Doing this helped, but I still have visible gaps between the weatherstripping. So the next step was to loosen the bolts that hold the hinge to the body and re-align that way. This is where i hit a snag. When I tried to loosen these bolts they were so rusted a few broke off. These bolts are now stuck in the backing plate. My question is has anyone else had this problem, and where if anywhere car I purchase a new backing plate? Or should i take the time and drill out the old plate and re-tap it?
