bad idel question

Default bad idel question

i have a 90gt. every now and then when im sitting at idel the rpms will jump up and down really bad. it will jump up and down about 300 rpms. its really noticable. iit only does it on occasion though so i dont know what could be causing it. any ideas what my problum could be ?

sounds like you need to do some cleaning:

MAF
EGR
PCV Screen
IAC

replace the PCV Valve

this should fix your problem

on the same subject... 89 lx has started to do that.. only in the mournings it seems.. when i start it the idel goes up and down.. hrmm if its cleaning ill have it done today

The IAC is the one that is most likely causing your problems, spray some WD-40 or (prefferably) carb cleaner into the holes and shake it around. After you're done shaking, dump the stuff out and go blow it out with your air compressor and give it a few minutes to dry and reinstall it.
