There is no heater hose under the dash. The heater core is behind/under the glovebox and is connected to the hoses in the engine bay. The heater core tubes go through the firewall.

My '86 has been like that for the 3 years I've owned it. I just assumed the heat was from the transmission & the aftermarket exhaust that are on the car.

Same though I've had for the past 23+ years with my 89.

my vert has done it since i did the 5spd conversion...never gets hot with the windows up heat is coming up through the floor opening

my 85 gets hot too.... isnt dyno mat for sound not heat protection?
